6th Grade: Design and Modeling 1

Design and Modeling 1 is an introductory course to Design and Modeling 2.  In DM1 students go through aspects of the design process, measure, scale, dimension, sketch like an engineer, and learn all of the aspects if the engineering processes by going through multiple design challenges.

7th Grade: Design and Modeling 2

Design and Modeling 2 is a course where students take what they have learned about orthographic, and isometric sketching and apply it to a CAD (Computer Aided Design).  Through the use of Autodesk Inventor, these students are empowered to be creative and learn an application that actual engineers use in the field.

8th Grade:  App Creators

This unit will expose students to computer science by computationally analyzing and developing solutions to authentic problems through mobile app development, and will convey the positive impact of the application of computer science to other disciplines and to society.

Students will customize their experience by choosing a problem that interests them from the areas of health, environment, emergency preparedness, education, community service, and school culture. Because problems in the real world involve more than one discipline, the unit will introduce students to biomedical science concepts as they work on solutions for the specific problems they choose to tackle.
