Mrs. Alysia Lambert happily joined the faculty at Moultrie Middle School in 2017. Her previous experience includes directing the Charleston Southern University Youth Chorale and the East Cooper Arts Academy Homeschool Choirs, teaching K-5 music at Flossmoor Hills Elementary (IL) and serving as the high school choral director for Palmetto Christian Academy, Lyons Township High School  (LaGrange, IL), and Lincoln-Way East High School (Frankfort, IL). She received her Masters degree in Voice Performance from Illinois State University and her B.S.Ed in music education from Western Carolina University. Her choirs have been selected twice to perform at the Illinois Music Educators Association State Conference and for music education students at Northwestern University and Wheaton College. She has also conducted her choirs in performance at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial in Honolulu, the Country Music Hall of Fame, Kennedy Space Center, DollyWood and Disney World. She has taught classes in music technology, class piano, musical theatre and special education music.  Directing Madrigal Dinners and Musicals for ten years were among the many highlights of Mrs. Lambert's career in the Chicago suburbs.
Mrs. Lambert has commissioned two compositions from Robert A. Boyd of Colla Voce Publishing.  Mr. Boyd also arranged Sleep my Baby for Mrs. Lambert's family following the birth of her first child.  This piece has been an All-State Chorus selection in several states.  Students under her direction are consistently selected for state and national honors and many have gone on to become successful choral directors and professional performers.
Mrs. Lambert also has a heart for teachers and has taught classes on self-assessment, differentiated instruction, and learning targets. She is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, the National Association for Music Education, and Who's Who in American Education. She was awarded the Top Outstanding Person from the Illinois Jaycees for her community service efforts. She is a Girl Scout Troop Leader, a lector, VBS director and religion teacher at her church, and frequent Room Mom.  Her husband is the band director at Wando High School and their two daughters attend Belle Hall Elementary. Mrs. Lambert credits her own middle school chorus teacher, Millie Turek, as a primary influence on her career.
