First Day of School

Moultrie will welcome all Patriots on Wednesday, August 21, beginning at 8:05AM; school is dismissed at 3:30PM.

Once the morning bell sounds, students will report to homeroom classes where they’ll receive updated schedules along with locker assignments and student agendas.

If you would like to walk your student into the building on the first day of school, you are welcome to do so. Please park in the staff lot off Simmons Street, and bring with you inside your state-issued photo identification.

We anticipate heavier than normal traffic the first week of school due to Moultrie’s increased student enrollment, new traffic patterns, and on-going construction on Coleman Boulevard. Please allocate additional time for arrival and dismissal; thank you, in advance, for your kindness and patience.

Arrival & Dismissal

The safety and security of all of our Patriots is a top priority. Therefore, students are not permitted on campus prior to 8:05AM.

On days when students are asked to arrive early for clubs, activities, and/or homework help in the media center, they will enter through the front and sign-in to the office between 7:30 AM-7:55AM.

Car-riders will be dropped off and picked up in the car loop area off of Simmons Street. Please note that no student should be dropped off or picked up in front of the school or at the rear. Pick up/Drop off on Ellis St. is prohibited. A diagram of thecar-rider line is attached and posted on Moultrie’s website. Please follow directional signs and procedures for arrival and dismissal.

All walkers, bicyclists, and skateboarders should enter through the gym entrance. If students ride a bike or skateboard, they must lock them in racks with their own locks as Moultrie cannot be responsible for bikes or skateboards left unsecured. Please be reminded that students are required to wear helmets which can be stored in lockers during the day; names should be written in helmets with a Sharpie.

In the mornings 6th grade students will report to the gymnasium, 7th grade students will report to the cafeteria, and 8th grade students will remain at the Farmers Market/pavilion area. Please note that any student who arrives after 8:25AM is required to be signed in by an adult in the front office.

Early pick-up from school is permissible from the front office prior to 3:00. Parents should send in a signed and dated note from home. Students bring this note to the front office no later than 9AM that morning for an early-release pass.
